     Michael was chosen James Monroe Elementary School's Teacher of the Year for the 2012 - 2013 school year. His commitment to good healthy habits, working hard, & helping others is like no other. No matter what obstacle he faces, MS diagnosis, technology issues, or classroom difficulties, Michael always exceeds our expectations. He is a wonderful role model for students and staff.

Multiple Sclerosis Society's Most Inspirational Walker

     Michael refuses to allow his MS diagnosis to slow him down. He eats healthy and makes the time to exercise every day, so his body is in the absolute best shape to fight this disease. He is a Physical Education teacher who continually inspires all his students, especially those also facing challenges. The Multiple Sclerosis Society award Michael this honor for his ability to raise awareness of this disease and his fundraising efforts.
